Take a Day and Make it Great

Starting your day the right way is essential. Instead of rushing around trying to get ready and leave the house, get the kids to school or even eating breakfast starting the day right really makes or breaks how the rest of the day ends up.

Many of us really do not think about pausing for 2-3 minutes and be present with our thoughts. Maybe you turn the tv on and see the news headlines- most of which is depressing or sad.

Using and seeing positive quotes first thing can really change our perspective on our own lives and the world around us. Doing things differently can actually be a positive not a negative.

I love reading inspiring articles, blogs and books that make me think about perspectives, feelings and people who have struggled and made their lives better. It gives hope and renewed faith that we all have our issues, but it is how we deal with them that makes the difference.

Yesterday, for the first time in over a year I took the plunge and went swimming. It took a great deal of courage for me because of my body size and bullying. However I was brave enough to do it and it felt great. I love the feeling of being in water and swimming made me feel so happy.

Doing something so simple, yet really important to me and my body was a way to show that being different is a good thing. Too many people are boring because they want to follow the crowd, when in actual fact, being different is far more self satisfying.

Taking a day and making it great sets the way we look at life, people and the world around us. So when you start you day, make sure you do it with positivity, understanding and don’t forget to smile. Being kind to ourselves and others is really important for the body, mind and spirit.
