A few days ago, I read an article that an Intensive Care nurse here in the UK has asked people to knit hearts for people who are seriously ill with COVID-19 in hospital – you can read the article here .
Due to the severity of the policies regarding visitors and people passing away, these knitted hearts have to be done from clean wool and stored in a plastic bag for 72 hours before anyone can receive them.
I thought this was such a touching request for those who are grieving and in need of support. With this in mind, I have decided to write this blog about other heart crafts you can do while self-isolating and give to someone you care about. At the bottom of the blog, is free heart template you can download , which has different sized hearts for you to use.
As you can see below, heart crafts can be done with children – doodle and tissue paper hearts or as adults, recycled fabric heart cards and felt hearts.
Other craft heart alternatives I have found on Pinterest include these cute lace hearts for children. https://ourkidthings.com/cardboard-lacing-hearts
Or maybe have a go at making these string hearts https://realitydaydream.com/heart-shaped-beginner-sting-art-kids-craft/
Make the most of your time by getting creative. See below for the free heart template. Please note it is for personal use only.
